ICE FISH ON TORNETRÄSK

Experience the suspense of ice fishing on a frozen lake in the Arctic Circle.
Enjoy the tranquility of the frozen landscape and learn how to catch fish in the icy waters of Lake Torneträsk.
Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Kiruna and head to Lake Torneträsk. Arrive at the lake and get ready to start your ice fishing adventure.

We load a sledge with an ice drill, fishing equipment, and lunch and head out on the ice to find the best spot for the day.
Get settled with drilling a hole in the ice, learn ice fishing techniques,
and what to do when the fish bite.

The water in Lake Torneträsk is crystal clear.
Look down the hole in the ice and see the fish swim by.

It is like fishing in an aquarium!

The different fishes you may catch are Arctic Char and Whitefish.
Cook the fish on site or bring it home to cook it later.
Alternatively, simply let them go back in the lake to swim another day.
We will enjoy a lunch out on the lake or in a wind shelter nearby.

During your ride out to and back from the lake, I will tell you about our
local history, nature, and culture.
