SNOWSHOE IN ABISKO NATIONAL PARK

SNOWSHOE IN ABISKO NATIONAL PARK

While the snow starts to melt around Kiruna, the winter still has its grip around the mountain region. So let’s go for a snowshoe hike and explore Abisko National Park!

The road from Kiruna to Abisko (100km) follows the "Iron Ore railway" along the mountains and Scandinavian largest mountain lake "Torneträsk".
During our one hour journey to Abisko I will tell about the history and the people building this "Iron ore railway" in the early 1900.

In Abisko we will  Snowshoe along the semi frozen creek "Abisko Jåkka",
explore animal tracks, flora & fauna and learn about the science done in the area. We will also enjoy a homemade outdoor lunch in this "spring winter" landscape.
